I know I have made a few chow mein recipes for this blog. So here is another.

Of course they are all just a bit different.

The biggest difference for this one is the combination of meats. Each meat gives a nice flavor to the dish.

I also really enjoyed the addition of the bean sprouts and water chestnuts. They provide a nice amount of crunch.

The flavor of this recipe is good. The sauce is a nice consistency. Overall quite enjoyable.
CHOW MEIN
1/2 Pound Diced Pork
3/4 Pound Diced Veal
1/2 Pound Diced Beef
2 Tablespoons Fat
6 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
1 Cup Water
1 Bunch Celery, Cut Into 1/2 Inch Slices
1 Onion, Chopped
2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
1/4 Cup Water
1 Can Sliced Water Chestnuts
1 Can Bean Sprouts, Drained
1 Can Sliced Mushrooms
Salt and Pepper
Brown meats in fat; add soy sauce and 1 cup water. Simmer for 2 minutes. Add celery and onion and simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Blend cornstarch with water and stir into the meat mixture. Add chestnuts, bean sprouts and mushrooms, heat through. Adjust seasonings. Serve over cooked rice.
