Citrus and Vodka

My father was in the Navy for the entirety of my young life. He didn’t retire until I was seventeen. I remember always having some kind of military related party - whether it was division parties in our garage, or ship wide picnics.

There was always a lot of drinking at these parties. Always. My mother was not a huge alcohol lover, but I distinctly remember her enjoying a screwdriver.

My brother and I would sneak sips of our parents drinks, so I knew what a screwdriver was and how it should taste.

It really is a simple cocktail. I am positive you don’t really need a recipe to make one. But, the recipe was there, so why not use it.

I find that the orange juice and the vodka go very nice together.

This is a classic cocktail that can be as mild or as strong as you want. And its simplicity makes you savor the two ingredients.

SCREWDRIVER
2 Jiggers Vodka
6 Jiggers Orange Juice
Shake vodka and orange juice with ice. Strain into glasses.
