Different Pigs In Blankets

Another football Sunday means another round of finger foods.

We often make some kind of pigs in a blanket, or bacon wrapped smokies.

I thought this recipe would be nice to try. It’s the same, but just a touch different.

It reminded me a little of a corn dog. There is just enough corn meal to give the batter a bit of the corn bread feel.

The paprika, dry mustard and cayenne give the batter a very nice flavor.

I used beef little smokies, which have a wonderful flavor on their own.

You combine everything and then fry them. They are absolutely delicious! We ate almost all of them. . .

PRONTO PUPPIES

2 Tablespoons Yellow Corn Meal
1/4 Teaspoon paprika
1/2 Teaspoon Dry Mustard
1/8 Teaspoon Cayenne
1 Pound Miniature Frankfurters
Heat deep fat to 365 degrees. Blend egg and milk. Stir in dry ingredients. Dip frankfurters into batter. Fry 2 to 3 minutes each, turning to brown evenly.
