Fun and Refreshing Wine

I wanted to have an alternative to beer on Football Sunday. Sangria seemed like a fun option.

I had a dry red wine, not a burgundy, but close. I don’t usually care for dry reds. They give me a headache. But, this did blend well with the other ingredients and soften up a bit.

The sugar gave the wine a touch of sweetness. Yet, the fruit juices added some tartness. It really was a nice balance.

The brandy added a little depth to the mixture.

I cut up additional oranges, along with some grapes and apple chunks to drop into the wine mixture.

I did add the fruit before I chilled the sangria. I like marinating the fruits in the wine mixture, that way when you eat them you get a little boozy kick.

This was a great drink and would be perfect on a hot day!
