Home Fries With Onions. . .

These would be great for breakfast – if you have the time.



I cooked these potatoes for just about 25 minutes. They were still a touch firm.



They also didn’t brown much. But my pan sure did! My husband is going to have a lot of fun trying to clean that later!


They tasted good, despite being a little al dente. The seasoning was just right.



I added the entire onion vice the teaspoon required. I like the flavor of onions and potatoes. I think it would be great with a red onion too. That would also give it a little color.


For the fat I used butter. This also gave them the buttery flavor that all potatoes deserve.



Overall very good. They just made a mess of the pan. . .



AMERICAN FRIED POTATOES

6 Large Potatoes

Garlic

3 Tablespoons Melted Fat

¾ Teaspoon Salt

¼ Teaspoon Pepper

½ Teaspoon Minced Onion


Pare potatoes and slice very thin. Rub skillet with garlic clove. Add fat and melt. When hot add potatoes, salt, pepper, and onion. Sauté slowly, turning occasionally so that the potatoes brown evenly. Cook until tender, about 25 to 30 minutes.
