Not Really Mac and Cheese

This is an interesting one!

I think it is a cross between a meat loaf and a chili Mac.

The base of the meat part is a pretty standard meat loaf, but with cheese.

If you want the macaroni and cheese feel I found there to not be enough cheese. You really couldn’t taste cheese in the end product.

I made the macaroni noodles fresh. So the macaroni was soft and delicious like a fresh pasta should be.

Combining the meat mixture and the macaroni gives you a very full loaf pan. Before it is cooked it really does resemble a chili Mac.

It does harden up quite a bit during the baking. It doesn’t get hard, but it does get very firm.

The dish did not taste horrible. I think it could probably be considered comfort food, although I guess comfort food is different for everyone.

The title of the recipe gives you visions of macaroni and cheese gooeyness, but it is not that.

So good, but not as advertised in my opinion.
