Simple Rolls

We had yet another dinner party. My husband is starting a new job that is very much in the public eye. Dinner parties are going to start becoming something I have to do instead of something I want to do.

Don’t get me wrong, I love throwing dinner parties! So maybe it won’t be so bad. The only difference is that I will be throwing dinner parties for people I don’t know instead of friends. . .

And our guests were impressed with the freshly made rolls. It really is a great way to impress people - no one does this anymore.

The rolls were quite simple to make. It was nice not to have two rise sessions. The rolls did rise nicely in the time they had though.

The rolls were light and fluffy on the inside and crisp and crusty on the outside. Always a good thing with bread!

And the cooking time was nice and short. I was able to get them baked off while still having the oven free for the main coarse.

The buttermilk gave the rolls a unique flavor. I find buttermilk bread products to be a touch on the sour side. But in a good way.

These rolls definitely had that slightly sour buttermilk taste. They were great smeared with butter.
