Tart Creamy Sauce

Sometimes I want something a little different when it comes to a side dish. Something more in depth that a simple steamed broccoli.

This starts with a steamed broccoli. I guess you could cook the broccoli any way you want. I chose to steam mine.


The sauce starts with the buttery onion. This adds a nice onion flavor and of course, butter!

The vinegar gives the sauce a touch of tartness.

The sour cream mixes in to a smooth and creamy sauce. It has some great flavor.

The sauce coats the broccoli nicely.

For the nuts I used chopped almonds. They provided a nice crunch to the top of the sauce.

This recipe will certainly liven up your side dish!
BROCCOLI WITH SOUR CREAM SAUCE
2 Bunches Broccoli, Cooked
2 Tablespoons Minced Onion
2 Tablespoons Butter
1 1/2 Cups Sour Cream
2 Teaspoons Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vinegar
1/8 Teaspoon Pepper
1/4 Cup Chopped Nuts
Sauté onion in butter for 5 minutes. Mix with remaining ingredients, except nuts, in the top of a double boiler. Heat through. Serve over hot broccoli garnished with nuts.
