They Do Taste Like Biscuits

There are so many different ways to make dumplings!



A lot of it depends on where in the country you are from.




Some dumplings are flat and noodle like, some are thick and puffy.




The recipe produces a thicker dumpling. Even though it is rolled, they puff up nicely while being cooked.




I used this recipe for my Chicken and Dumplings from yesterday.



It really did taste like little biscuits.




The dumplings are a little dense, but they are seasoned nicely.



The end result if a puffy little piece of dough, that really does taste like a biscuit!



BISCUIT DUMPLINGS

2 Cups Sifted Flour

2 Teaspoons Baking Powder

1 Teaspoon Salt

1/4 Cup Shortening

3/4 Cup Milk


Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Cut in shortening. Add milk. Pat out 1/2 inch thick. Cut into 1 inch squares. Drop into boiling soup. Cover and simmer 15 minutes.
